Horse shows and friendship

Horse shows and friendship Video Clips.

I got my now 10 yr old mare "Sandie" from a foster home who had rehabilitated her after the ASPCA seized her and 40-some other horses from a property in Lodi, OH. It was a breeding farm that had gotten over their heads and the horses were no longer being kept in acceptable conditions. Sandie was a broodmare and was green broke at best when I got her, but I didn't care. What I saw in her then was a fantastic willing personality and just an adorable 14.1 hand pony!  I had only been riding for 2 ½ years when I got her, so she was my very first horse, but with the help of some great trainers and friends, we've learned so much together over the last 3 years. This video starts off with clips of our very first show together, 3 months after we had learned how to jump (both of us!). While that show ended up as an elimination because she refused a jump and I was jumping ahead and therefore went over the jump myself without her, we were determined not to give up! I can't believe how far we've come in 3 years, or how much of an absolute soul mate Sandie has been to me. This video takes us from Intro through Starter, and next year we're moving up to Beginner Novice. The last jump in the video was set at 3'3" (we measured it afterwards and couldn't believe we'd done it!!) I'm so proud of her, and I wouldn't trade her for the tallest, most "blingy" looking Warmblood out there if I had the option! She's got a forever home with me...
