I often have people asking me if ankle weights will help increase their vertical jump height. The belief is that they will strengthen your leg muscle and make you jump higher, is this the truth?
What muscles will ankle weights improve?
A weight strapped to your ankles is going to strengthen some muscles but which ones is the question your should be asking. When you jump you use mainly pushing muscles to push against the ground. When you have ankle weights you are mainly strengthening pulling muscles which are the opposite of what you would need to jump higher.
Will they help at all?
Well they will make some muscles in the legs stronger so that is a plus. But the risk of injury or problems with your gait outweigh the minimal gains you may see in leg strength.
Using ankle weight to jump higher is similar to doing bicep curls to increase your bench press. You use your chest when benching and your triceps are the secondary muscles involved. If you want to increase your bench you could work your triceps and that would help.
So how do I jump higher?
To learn how to jump higher you have to exactly that, JUMP. Before starting a plyometric workout you need to make sure that your legs are strong enough. If you really want to strengthen your legs with weights you aren't going to strap them to your ankles you are going to push the weight doing squats or leg press. This will mimic jumping and increase your vertical leap.

This is one of the best exercises you can do to improve your vertical but I never see coaches or athletes doing it. Grab a chair or something to sit on that is knee height. Place a high box in front of the chair and from your seated position jump onto the box with one powerful movement. What does this do? It forces you to use more muscles to jump. Most people only bend their knees slightly when jumping. The more force you put against the ground will result in you getting higher. Ball Throws
This is another priceless workout that you must do if you want to learn how to jump higher. Take a medicine ball that weighs around 8 pounds. With feet shoulder width apart bend at the knee keeping the back straight until the ball touches the ground between your feet. Now throw the ball up in the air as high as you can while jumping to increase the height the ball goes.

All three play an important part in increasing life expectancy.

1. The beta fish should not live with another and always remain by themselves. If there is not enough space for your fish to swim around then your beta fish could become claustrophobic. Male Betta fish are likely to fight if in the same tank as another male.
2. A great way to increase the life expectancy of a fish is by having the right water temperature. It should be about 73 degrees to maintain normal levels of blood and help them live a healthy life, I advise you to filter and get a thermometer and check frequently. This is important because Betta lived in ponds and streams, it would be difficult for them to change the temperature to maintain their right.
3. Beta fish come from countries like Thailand and Vietnam.Another thing to be sure of sunlight to limit their serum are not hot and reach their life expectancy below doesn't.
When I had my beta always made sure to keep the lid on the tank so you could jump. I would want to clean my tank at least three to four times a month. That way the water was always fresh.

Where to Grind in WoW - Finding the Best Grinding Spots
This quick guide is as simple as it gets. Instead of going on a rant about how awesome World of Warcraft is, we'll use the allotted space to match up the appropriate levels with the best grinding spots. So if you've been wondering where to grind in WoW, this is the quick guide for you.
In levels 5 through 20, you can grind in quite a few places. Follow this list (level appropriate) and you'll find some great grinding ground. For starters, hit up Elwynn Forest in Goldshire Farms, south of town. Next, we're moving onto Loch Modan and then to Westfall to kill the defias smugglers.
The Barrens will keep you occupied until you're at level 22. You'll find different places throughout the Barrens, including Bristleback, the Southsea Pirates south of Ratchet, Harpies and Witchwing Harpies. The Barrens will offer something to you no matter what level you're on.
Once you're a level 20 player, you can visit the Hillsbrad Foothills to handle your grinding, and then make the jump to the Wetlands and Stonetalon Mountains. Once you're in the mid to late 20s, places like Duskwood and Ashenvale become available to Alliance members. Everyone else can grind at Thousand Needles.
These locations will provide you with a lot of grinding opportunities against a wide assortment of characters. You'll pick up a variety of things like world drops, blue and green items, gold and silver, and a plethora of items that can be sold at the auction house.
Knowing where to grind in WoW is a valuable piece of information, and as you can tell here, it doesn't have to be overly specific. Simply visit these areas and you'll find the mobs running around, begging to be grinded into dust. Each main area will offer a little bit of something depending on your class and your level. A lot of places are safe and some places, including the areas that require a higher level, may be better grinded by taking a group.

If any one of these components fails, your car won't go very far. You will be pretty much stuck cold. But diagnosing the various problems can be a pretty large endeavor. When you have an electrical issue, it can be very difficult to know which system is causing the issue. But besides the battery, the alternator is generally the most common electrical component on a vehicle that goes bad. This article will help you determine if you are having alternator problems or if you're experiencing another type of electrical problem.
Alternator issues generally happen while you're driving down the road. But before going forward, let's first discuss what an alternator is and just what it does. An alternator is basically like a mini generator. It is powered by the engine and generates electricity to power all of the different electrical systems of a vehicle such as lights and stereo. The alternator also recharges the battery once the car is on. When the alternator fails while you're driving along the road, the vehicle will begin to lose power, possibly somewhat gradually or else fairly quickly depending on whether the alternator goes bad all at once or if it goes bad gradually before ultimately dying. This power loss will eventually cause the vehicle to lose charge and die. The alternator is required to power the coil, which in turn gives the motor its combustive capability. So you can't run your vehicle without an alternator.
If you suspect that your alternator is bad but it did not fail on you while you were driving down the road, there is another way of trying to diagnose the issue. The alternator is necessary to run the car but not to start the vehicle. Often, if the alternator has gone out, you still might be able to start the car. If you aren't quite able to start the vehicle, you should definitely have the ability to jump start the car. The battery will drain quickly if the alternator isn't able to recharge it though. So if you are able to start the car but not go very far before the car dies on you, then you may want to have a buddy follow you in a different car so they can jump start your car and help you get to the mechanic.
Or, if you don't want to spend the cash, you could always change the alternator yourself. Alternators are pretty well standard and they usually run in the vicinity of 0 or so. So if you're in a somewhat adventurous mood, an alternator is the part with the big ball of copper wire with a metal cage surrounding it. It's circular and slightly smaller than a soccer ball. However, if you have no mechanical experience, it isn't advised that you work on your own vehicle. But if the alternator is easily accessible and you feel as though you have the confidence, then you might want to think about working on it yourself and saving yourself a little bit of money.
